Hi,
that would be awesome. I don't know how it can be done, something to do with https://docs.python.org/2/library/gettext.html I suppose.
Tell me if you need anything.
Regards,

Hello!
Since I know some of Python, I thought I can help my fellow-countryman who asked for it on a polish forum.
Except changes in code, there is need of changing Makefile. I don't know exactly what to do with it.
I'll try to submit an initial commit to a new branch.
To complete traslating, it is required to compute translations with xgettext and msgfmt as it's shown there -> http://pymotw.com/2/gettext/, for every locale. I can't exactly understand what are you doing in your Makefile - I come from Unix background, trough I work on OS X (which is UNIX anyway).
Afterall, I ask for help in this matter.

Salut!

Hi !
Thanks for your contribution. I will gladly try to help with the Makefile. Sadly, I’m not the one who wrote it, but we’ll find a way.
The Makefile is in charge of the creation of all the binaries of Pyromaths.

There are some issues.

I don't know how to use QTranslator - a kind prrson could help letting translate menu bar on OS X. Gir Blame says that these lines were made by Yves Gesnel on 2013-05-14.

Still, when translation is not complete, you could create a branch "gettext" or sth simmilar for you and others who want help translating, and when it's done, we would merge it with "develop" branch.

And how to run the application with set locale?

Linux (I checked Ubuntu, but others should do as well) -> works without doing anything.

OS X, OpenBSD -> this trick does the job

Code : Tout sélectionner

LC_MESSAGES=en python pyromaths
Apple specifies own format for localizing apps, and that's the way to get current language on OS X:

Code : Tout sélectionner

defaults read .GlobalPreferences AppleLanguages | tr -d [:space:] | cut -c2-3
I don't know how to do it on Windows since I don't even have one.

It is plausible that using QTranslator instead of gettext is better since QT is portable across platforms. I don't know what to do now.

Is it right? Is it helpful?

Hi Rafal,
enedil has done the hard work to prepare the translations. You should be able to translate everything in polish in a few days now, using these instructions : https://github.com/enedil/pyromaths/blo ... RADUIRE.md
He may translate it for you :)

Hi Rafael,

If you do not want to wait, you can read the post "Internationalisation (Français/Español) et beaucoup plus", download the file "pyromaths-15.02-traduction-International-.zip" and start translate using the free Poedit.

This adaptation is Pyromaths to improve its translation.

Cheers

Hey Rafal,
I've integrated your work on the new version of Pyromaths. You don't have to do it twice :)
Thanks a lot for your contribution.

I've downloaded version 15.10 from 2.10 but I can't change language. It's still only french.
